Photoshop Tutorial -

Students will learn how to use and edit the PS workspace.
Class Assignment - Students will watch the video tutorial and try these techniques on their own. No upload activity for this.

Students will learn how to use the magic wand, use adjustments, scale, and duplicate layers.

Students will learn how to use the polygonal lasso tool, desaturate, filters, and create adjustments.

Students will learn how to use the selection tools (polygonal lasso & magic wand) to create a new image with copies of existing graphical elements.
Class Assignment - Students will complete the tutorial and upload to the classroom once completed.

5.Photoshop Tutorial -
Blending Options & Backgrounds
Students will learn how to use the blending options (such as strokes, outer glows, drop shadows etc).

AND add colour fills or gradients to the background.

Class Assignment :
1.Students will create a new file in Photoshop > PRINT > LETTER size.
- Call this yourname_birds.psd
2. Decide which 3 bird images you would like to use. Then open them up in Photoshop. You will see all all documents open on tabs.
- You will now need to move those bird images onto the yourname_birds.psd document. You can do this by going onto your bird document and Ctrl + A (this grabs everything on that layer) then going onto the yourname_birds.psd document and pressing Ctrl + v (paste it in).
- Bring each bird image onto your yourname_birds.psd document.
3. For each bird add a different blending option (ex. stroke, outer glow etc)
4. BACKGROUND - Add a new layer / move it to the bottom on your layers pallet / Add a colour fill using the paint bucket OR use a gradient. OR do this directly onto your 'background' layer.
5. Upload to the classroom once completed.

Students will learn how to add text to their document.

Create a document and and write your name. Stylize it in any way that you want and upload it to the classroom for completion marks.
